性質(zhì)描述: 低溫下為淡黃色固體，18℃以上時為淡黃色液體，沸點為246-248℃，相對密度1.155，折光率1.5268。
制備方法
方法一：其制備方法是在反應(yīng)瓶中加入氯化鈉和硫酸，室溫下攪拌，滴加苯甲酰腈，控制溫度在30℃左右，滴加完后保溫3 h，再滴加甲醇，升溫回流5 h，反應(yīng)結(jié)束后減壓除去甲醇得成品。
方法二：由苯甲酰酸與甲醇經(jīng)酯化反應(yīng)則制得。將環(huán)甲醇和苯甲酰甲酸加入反應(yīng)鍋內(nèi)，攪拌下緩緩加入硫酸。加熱回流12h后，回收過量甲醇。酯化物用稀碳酸鈉溶液中和，分取油層，水層用苯提取。提取液與油層合并，經(jīng)無水硫酸鈉干燥后，進行蒸餾，先回收溶劑苯，再減壓蒸出低沸物，然后收集137-146℃（2.4kPa）餾分，取為苯甲酰甲酸甲酯。所用原料苯甲酰甲酸是由苯乙烯氧化得到的（見04960），苯甲酰甲酸計，酯化收率為50%以上。
用途
1.UV固化型涂料和油墨。
2.苯甲酰甲酸甲酯是除草劑苯嗪草酮的中間體。
3.用于有機合成。
